A Scary (Expensive) Longevity Procedure

Ever heard of plasma exchange? That's what some longevity seekers are now pursuing...Here's how it works: During therapeutic plasma exchange, a machine takes blood from your body, removes the plasma (the liquid component), discards it, and replenishes it with fresh fluid, like donor plasma or an albumin solution, before returning everything back to you, rejuvenating your blood composition.Sound strange? Here's another way to look at it:Think of your blood like a busy city river, where plasma is the water, and the blood cells are the boats. Sometimes, this river gets polluted with harmful substances in the water (plasma). Now, imagine a magical water treatment plant that can:

  1. Separate: It scoops up some of the river water, carefully removing it from the boats (cells).

  2. Clean: This plant then dumps out the dirty water (discarding the plasma) but keeps all the boats.

  3. Replenish: It fills the river back up with fresh, clean water (new plasma or fluid).

  4. Return: The boats float back into the now cleaner, healthier river.
