and the new sugar fix?

March 6, 2025 | Issue #144

Hi... Any parents out there?

In this week's newsletter:šŸ‘¶ Kids = Longer Life?šŸ¬ A Sugar Fix?

Who's In the Longevity Kid Club?

After a 5am wakeup call from my son this morning, I knew my perfect 'longevity sleep schedule' was ruined for the week. Then I read this new study...Turns out parenting more children is linked to increased brain connectivity in areas that typically decline with age. This suggests parenthood may help protect against brain aging. It's not just for mothers, who go through pregnancy. The effect was seen in both mothers and fathers, indicating that caregiving experience correlates to a longer life. And there's more...Parents with more children also showed greater social connectivity and, for men, stronger grip strength—both predictors of better brain health in later life.Of course, deciding to have kids is a big and important decision that should not be taken lightly. However, as the world is projected to have a declining population within this century, perhaps it's a good idea to think about your offspring... And now that you know it could help you live longer, maybe that decision will be even easier to make. I'll be welcoming #3 this summer. Wish me luck!
